A Bioinspired Humanoid Foot Mechanism
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper introduces an innovative robotic foot design inspired by the functionality and anatomy of human foot. Most humanoid robots are characterized flat, rigid feet with limited mobility, which cannot emulate physical behavior foot–ground interaction. The proposed mechanism consists three main bodies, to represent heel, plant, toes, connected compliant joints for improved balancing impact absorption. functional requirements were extracted from medical literature, acquired through a motion capture system, was validated numerical simulation.

Bioinspired Robotics and Vision with Humanoid Robots
In this talk, I will describe recent results on exploring recent results from neurophysiology and developmental psychology for the design of humanoid robot technologies. The outcome of this research is twofold: (i) using biology as an inspiration for more flexible and sophisticated robotic technologies and (ii) contribute to the understanding of human cognition by developing biologically plausi...
متن کاملFlexible Foot/Ankle Based on PKM with Force/Torque Sensor for Humanoid Robot
This paper describes the development of a novel humanoid robot foot/ankle based on an orientation Parallel Kinematic Mechanism for intelligent and flexible control. With three identical Universal-Prismatic-Spherical prismatic-actuated limbs and a central Universal-Revolute passive limb, the PKM can perform three degrees of freedom rotation motions. In order to enable the humanoid robot safely t...
متن کاملGait control by foot placement for humanoid robots
Humanoid robots are used as a research tool to understand bipedal locomotion. When pushed, a humanoid robot must be able to avoid falling and return to a balanced configuration. This is called push recovery and can be achieved using proper foot placement. Depending on the freedom of movement, one or multiple steps are taken to accomplish this goal. It is expected that foot placement can also be...
متن کاملForce Control of the iCub Humanoid for One-foot Balancing
This paper overviews the whole-body force control framework implemented on the iCub humanoid platform. This framework consists in a hierarchy of two tasks, where the highest priority task is a force control task, and the lowest one a postural task. The force task achieves the stabilization of a desired centroidal dynamics, i.e., a desired linear and angular momentum of the multi body system. Th...
متن کاملBalance of humanoid robots by proper foot placement
When humanoid robots are going to be used in society, they should be capable to maintain their balance. Balance of bipedal robots is defined as the state of the robot in which it is not fallen. We say that a robot is/remains in balance as long as it did not fall/is not going to fall. Balance of bipedal robots has been analyzed using numerous approaches. These approaches can rigorously be divide...
